Dalyan is established in an environmentally protected area, in an area of natural beauty and historical interest. The Dalyan channel, through which water circulates between the Mediterranean and Koycegiz Lake, winds its way to the sea, via a small network of lakes and waterways. Nearby attractions include: King's Rock Tombs (900 metres) - the resting place of the kings of Kaunos, these tombs are cut into the rocky landscape running beside the river.
